Sarah Howard
Operations & Compliance Manager
A native of Michigan, Sarah came to North Carolina in 1988 to attend Wake Forest University on a golf scholarship. Only three years later, she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology.
Sarah worked as a Country Club Golf Pro for the next three years, but the food and beverage industry caught her interest and lured her away from a career as a Golf Pro. Over the next few years, Sarah worked as Bar and Beverage Manager for a hotel/restaurant group. During this time, Sarah began to develop an interest in wine and in the wine business. Next, Sarah became the Purchasing Manager at a different Country Club, where she was also in charge of the Club’s wine program. Sarah worked with local wine wholesalers to put together the Club’s wine list(s), focusing on pairing wines with the different foods in each of the Club’s venues.
In her nine years with Banks Channel, Sarah has done a little bit of everything. She is currently working part-time as the Compliance Manager in charge of licenses, permits and brand registrations for all of the company’s US interests. She also compiles monthly sales and depletion information from all of Banks Channel’s markets, both foreign and domestic.
Sarah lives in Winston Salem with her husband and two young sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf, attending sporting events, and searching for her next favorite wine.
